Invoice requirements in New Zealand

Checked 21 October 2026. General guidance, not tax advice.

Since 1 April 2023 New Zealand no longer requires a document titled "tax invoice". Instead, GST-registered sellers must give "taxable supply information", and what's needed depends on the amount.
